H-shaped steel products originating from China are subject to investigation and application of anti-dumping measures from October 5, 2016, according to Decision No. 3993/QD-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. After the investigation period, the official anti-dumping tax rate for these goods is applied at 22.09% - 29.17%, the application period is from September 5, 2017, to the end of September 5, 2022.

Then, on December 27, 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Trade conducted the first review of the application of anti-dumping measures to the above goods. As a result, on November 20, 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 3024/QD-BCT, keeping the anti-dumping tax rate unchanged at 22.09% - 29.17%.

After 8 months of applying the above tax rate, on July 2, 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade received a request to review the application of anti-dumping measures to the investigated goods.

Accordingly, on August 19, 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 1640/QD-BCT on the results of the end-of-term review of the application of anti-dumping measures to H-shaped steel products originating from China with the following results:

  • The results of the investigation show that goods imported from China are likely to continue to be dumped if anti-dumping measures are terminated. Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Trade decided to extend the anti-dumping measure for another 5 years, from September 6, 2022, to the end of September 5, 2027;
  • The anti-dumping tax rate is from 22.09% to 33.51%.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to coordinate with relevant ministries and sectors to monitor the impact of trade remedies, production situation, supply-demand, prices, etc. to ensure an equal and favorable competitive environment for manufacturing industries under the law.
